Welcome to the Youth Almighty Project

Hi and welcome to Youth Almighty Project. We are Officially Sunderland's best Youth Project as judged by The Best of Wearside Awards. Our Project is run by young people for young people with the help and support of our Youth Workers.

Post: Youth and Community Development Worker

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Youth and Community Development Worker to join the team at this Sunderland based voluntary youth sector organisation.

Youth Almighty are rapidly expanding its programmes and activities after recently securing additional funding which has been achieved due to its unique governance which is 100% youth led with funding being secured from a variety of funders.

Youth Almighty are predominantly a Centre Based Provider of high standard youth provision but in addition we have a distinct model of detached engagement work that targets some of the area’s hardest to reach young people, working closely alongside other statutory and non-statutory partners. We are now seeking exceptional individuals to engage with young people, form a trusted relationship and to support them.

The Youth and Community development worker will:

  • Develop the quality of the project’s curriculum offer so that it provides a range of differentiated, progressive, diverse and accessible programmes relevant to the needs of children and young people;

  • Ensure and embed quality of practice;

  • Progress the organisations NEET work and to assist the local community in job seeking.

  • Advance the long term program for the project, across work with children and young people that keeps the program fresh and appealing to others;

  • To work in partnership with other organisations and agencies, including voluntary sector colleagues to support of the development and delivery of the programs.

Please see the attached person specification for details on essential and desirable skills and abilities required for the post.
