What is Community First

Community First is an £80m government-funded initiative that will run for four years, until March 2015. The programme will help communities come together to identify their strengths and local priorities in order to plan for their future and become more resilient. It will fund both new and existing community groups.

Silksworth where we are based has been awarded over £50,000 from the fund and work is under way to ensure that the allocation is spent wisely within the ward.

Why is Youth Almighty Project involved

Youth Almighty project successfully applied to be the panel partner for Silksworth, a requirement for Community First funding to be given to an area, we were very pleased to be awarded the panel partner status and have taken the role very seriously and have committed as an organisation not to any expenses from the fund and to ensure it is distributed to the most appropriate organisations both new and old.
