Cookie Policy

In order to improve the online privacy of website users, new European regulations require that websites hosted in Europe must obtain a visitor’s informed consent for website cookies to be saved onto their computer or other internet-connected device.

Please note that by disabling, deleting, or disallowing cookies via your browser, your web experience may be affected. You will also find that the functionality of many other websites and services will be affected.

What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file, sometimes encrypted, which some websites use to store information on your computer or other internet device. The browser then sends the information back to the website server when you request a new page or return to the same website on a later occasion. A cookie doesn’t tell us your email address or any other personal information, and can only be read by the webserver that created it. The data it holds cannot be used by any other website.

A cookie will typically contain details such as the domain from which the cookie has come, a value which is usually a random unique number as an identifier and the lifetime (expiry) of the cookie, together with any choices that you have made on the website which need to be remembered across more than one page, or from one visit to the next.

Only one type of cookie is used on this website:

Session Cookies: allowing us to “remember” content from page to page (these expire when you leave the website or close the browser).

We do not use:

  • Persistent Cookies: which are often used by websites to record your preferences, such as language and usernames for automatic logins, which is remembered the next time that you visit the website. Typically, persistent cookies are subject to an automatic expiry period, such as one month, or one year.
  • Third Party Cookies: these are cookies from any other domain, such as recommended product and advertising services.

What will a cookie do for me?

Almost every website that offers advanced features such as online ordering and custom content utilises cookies. Online shops uses cookies to keep track of items within your shopping basket and to enable them to present you with customized content. Each website utilises unique cookies, which essentially means that the cookies used by one site cannot be used by another.

Why do we use a cookie:

The new website is based on a leading content management system (CMS), and a session cookie is an integral part of the CMS. It remembers essential settings and provides for a smoother experience. The CMS will not function correctly without it.

We respect the privacy of our members and other website users and we want you to know why we ask you to opt-in and accept cookies. We want to be clear that accepting cookies does not give us access to your computer or personal information. We value the good relationships that we foster with all our users and you will benefit from cookies on our website, which enhance the web experience.

Turning off / disallowing / disabling or deleting cookies in your browser:

The majority of internet browsers will provide an option to disallow cookies. You can usually find how to do this in the help menu for your browser. Cookies can also be deleted by using your internet browser, but you must disallow cookies otherwise they will be reapplied the next time you visit a website. Find out more about controlling cookies.
